Nidec Shinpo has expanded its drive module products for unmanned guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile vehicles (AMRs) to include a new DC 24V specification.


As the market demand for automation and labor-saving in warehousing facilities such as logistics and manufacturing industries continues to increase, the overall development trend of the AGV and AMR industries is positive. The market size in 2021 is 3 billion US dollars, and it is predicted that the market size in 2027 is expected to exceed 18 billion US dollars.

In addition to the existing DC 48V specifications, the newly launched drive module also adds a 24V specification product lineup, which can be driven in the same voltage environment as the DC 24V that is widely used in peripheral devices. The drive unit adopts a compact, low-noise design reducer product that uses helical gear technology, which Nidec Shinpo is good at, and is equipped with two product lineups with an allowable load capacity of 250kgf and 650kgf. One driver can control two motors, which is 60% smaller than Nidec Shinpo's original products, contributing to the miniaturization and lightweighting of AGV and AMR. The interface with the host controller is equipped with not only the -422 function widely used in factories, but also the (Controller Area Network) communication function.

In the future, Nidec Shinpo will continue to provide efficient equipment that fully utilizes the proprietary technologies of reducers and continuously variable transmissions to various industries and contribute to the diversified market.
