Chinese robots enter the Philippines to serve as Chinese teachers

Recently, a "Chinese Education Robot " with a height of 237 mm, a length of 185 mm, and a thickness of only 144 mm passed the operation test of the Philippine Chinese Education Center. It will soon enter many Chinese schools in the Philippines to help the development of overseas Chinese education with scientific and technological power.

Due to the impact of the epidemic and international relations, there is a shortage of Chinese teachers abroad. In October this year, Huaqiao University was commissioned by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Fujian Province to develop a "Chinese Education Robot " for overseas Chinese schools as a platform-based educational product for Chinese learning and cultural communication.

It is reported that this robot contains the teaching contents of Filipino Chinese textbooks 1 to 12, and has language learning application modules and human-computer interaction function modules, etc. It embodies the reform results of more than 30 years of Chinese education in the Philippines, and represents the care and love of the motherland for overseas Chinese.

At the third "Online Living Room - Talking about Fujian Overseas Chinese" overseas Chinese education video symposium held in Fuzhou on December 19, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Fujian Province presented 400 "Chinese language education robots" to Chinese schools in the Philippines. They will be introduced into Chinese classrooms in Chinese schools and fully play their role, making them "messengers" of friendship that tell the Chinese story well, tell the Fujian story well, and promote the mutual understanding between the Chinese and Philippine peoples.

At present, Huaqiao University has built a deep learning platform for Chinese language education, a smart research and study management platform, a Chinese education activity registration platform, and a visualization platform for the youth volunteer talent pool, etc., and has increased the supply of online education resources. Through the "cloud classroom" of Chinese talents, "cloud training" for Chinese teachers, "cloud exchanges" for Chinese youth, "cloud seminars" for Chinese education research, and "cloud forums" for Chinese school parents, a series of online Chinese language education activities have been carried out. The Chinese language learning class for foreign government officials, which has been held for 17 consecutive years, is also taught online throughout the whole process. In 2022, 5,924 Chinese youth from 38 countries have participated in related activities of Huaqiao University, and Chinese school teachers from 30 countries have participated in various trainings organized by Huaqiao University.
