In the first half of 2022, from the supply side, China's industrial robot output was 202,436 sets, a year-on-year decrease of 11.2%; imports decreased by 8.13% year-on-year, and exports increased by 31.63% year-on-year.

Statistics from the Gaogong Robot Industry Research Institute (GGII) show that China's total industrial robot shipments in the first half of 2022 were 137,012 units, a year-on-year increase of 3.78%; of which Q2 shipments were 69,881 units, a year-on-year decrease of 7.54%; the market growth rate in the second half of the year is expected to be above 20%, and sales are expected to reach 303,000 units ; the backlog of orders in the first half of the year is expected to be released in the second half of the year.

From the demand side, in the first half of 2022, industries such as lithium batteries, photovoltaics, semiconductors, warehousing and logistics, and complete vehicles (mainly new energy vehicles) showed an increase in demand growth, among which the lithium battery and semiconductor industries led the growth rate, while the demand growth rate of 3C electronics, metal processing, home appliances, food and beverage industries declined.

With the development of the leading team of domestic robots, the competitive environment of "brand designation" by end customers has been broken, and the product competition market has entered a new stage of product strength competition. Therefore, the Chinese robot industry needs to work together with the entire upstream and downstream industry chain, from the research and development and innovation of upstream core components, the full product line layout of midstream body manufacturers, and the reconstruction of the business model of the downstream system integration market, to jointly promote the coordinated development of the domestic robot industry.
