On September 23, 2022, Nabtesco Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Kazumasa Kimura) held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new plant in the Dai-ichi Miyakoda area of Hamamatsu City. At the ceremony, Shizuoka Prefecture Governor Heita Kawakatsu and Hamamatsu City Mayor Yasutomo Suzuki attended and prayed for a good start.
As the world's third production base for precision speed reducers RV™, the new factory built in Hamamatsu City is based on the concept of "a smart factory with manufacturing innovation and high SDGs evaluation". After completion in September 2023 (scheduled), it is planned to gradually promote the introduction of production equipment, and it is expected to achieve a production capacity of 1.2 million units/year by 2030.
As the demand for less-manned and automated production continues to increase, the demand for precision reducers is continuing to increase, and this demand is expected to increase further in the future. Together with the production capacity of the three production bases of Hamamatsu Plant, Mie Prefecture Tsu Plant, and Changzhou Plant in Jiangsu Province, China, it is expected to increase to 2.34 million units per year by 2030, which will be able to fully respond to customers' mid- and long-term production needs.
