With the development of the new four modernizations, cars have begun to transform from simple means of transportation to smart terminals. As an interface for communication between users and vehicles, smart cockpits have gradually become a new breakthrough point for the intelligentization of corporate products.
The penetration rate of smart cars is expected to reach 83% in 2025. Smart cockpit and smart driving are the two core features of smart cars. Limited by factors such as technology, cost, and road conditions, the implementation of smart driving is relatively slow. However, thanks to the rapid iteration of software and hardware technologies, the field of smart cockpit is developing rapidly, and consumers are beginning to regard cars as the "third living space."
The smart cockpit is transformed into a multifunctional "smart mobile space" through voice, vision and touch interaction. Recently, new energy vehicle companies have promoted the rapid evolution of smart cockpits, and the functions and designs are becoming increasingly standardized. Improvements include: increased chip computing power, system optimization, increased number of screens, personalized in-vehicle apps and UI, humanized voice interaction, and popularization and efficiency improvement of wireless charging for mobile phones.
Current Status of Smart Cockpit Development
As an important part of the vehicle's intelligent system, the sensory experience of the smart cockpit is the most intuitive and obvious to users. In recent years, its intelligence level has been growing visibly.
High-speed and urban pilot (navigation) assistance functions, 800V high-voltage electrical architecture platform, 20000rpm+ high-speed motor, active chassis/active suspension, AI language large model, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip are the six hottest new technologies in 2023. Many technologies also assist the development of smart cockpits.
With the successful application of smart cockpits in Tesla's mass-produced cars, a wave of smart cockpit research and development has been set off. Since then, automakers have paid more and more attention to the field of smart cockpits.
