On August 5, the news that NVIDIA's new AI chip Blackwell was delayed in release due to design defects has attracted widespread attention.

In response, NVIDIA said: "Demand for Hopper is very strong, Blackwell sample trials have begun widely, and production is expected to increase in the second half of the year. Beyond that, we do not comment on rumors."

Earlier, foreign media reported that the Blackwell chip may be delayed for three months or even longer due to design problems, which will affect several major customers including Meta, Google and Microsoft, who have already booked chips worth tens of billions of dollars.

In addition, sources revealed that NVIDIA has informed customers such as Microsoft of the delay of the new Blackwell chip.

However, Morgan Stanley expressed optimism about the prospects of the Blackwell chip in its latest report, believing that production will only be suspended for about two weeks, and expects to catch up in the fourth quarter of 2024 through the efforts of its partner TSMC.
