Application of Yaskawa inverter in lithium battery industry
The upstream raw materials of lithium batteries mainly include nickel, cobalt, manganese, lithium ore and graphite ore, which constitute positive and negative electrode materials, electrolytes, electrode substrates, diaphragms, etc.; the midstream is the assembly of positive and negative electrode materials, electrolytes, electrode substrates, and diaphragms into battery cells for manufacturing and packaging; the downstream is the application field of lithium batteries. my country's lithium batteries are widely used in many downstream fields such as mobile phones, laptops, electric bicycles, electric vehicles, power tools, digital cameras, etc.
As the scale of new energy vehicles in my country expands, it is expected that the proportion of demand for lithium-ion batteries in my country's electric vehicles will further increase in the future.
Lithium-ion batteries can be divided into consumer, power and energy storage batteries according to their application areas.
The market size of consumer batteries is relatively small and has entered a mature development stage. The growing market demand for power lithium batteries has greatly boosted the development of my country's power lithium battery industry.
What I want to introduce to you today is the application of Yaskawa inverter products in the lithium battery industry.
Overall flow chart:
01 Mixer equipment
02 Coating machine equipment
03 Winding machine equipment
Pain point of mixer: Existing FA products can meet the needs of mixers and do not need to be improved. The pain point of mixers lies in the bearings, which are prone to breakage. Pain
point of coating machine: End users require environmentally friendly equipment and energy-saving needs. In addition, low-efficiency motors (IE2 motors or lower) are prohibited through "motor efficiency adjustment". High-efficiency motors are expensive, and permanent magnet motors seem difficult to control. Yaskawa inverters are used in lithium battery industry mixers, sand mills, coating machines, slitters, winders, fans and other equipment to run stably and efficiently to meet customer needs.
-Characteristics of the equipment after adopting Yaskawa inverter-
01 Stability
The encoder-free system can output torque stably. High torque output can be achieved and stable operation can be maintained when running at any speed from low speed to high speed.
02 Reliability
Advance notification of equipment maintenance can provide a warning before a real mechanical failure occurs, thus avoiding equipment failure and downtime in advance and avoiding the worst consequences.
03 Convenience
GA700 with power below 75kW has built-in brake unit, which can be directly connected to brake resistor, thus reducing cost and miniaturizing electric cabinet.
04 Miniaturization
GA700 and GA500 can be installed closely, making the control cabinet more compact.
The close-contact side-by-side installation of the inverters contributes to the miniaturization of the control cabinet.
05 Energy saving
It can drive high-efficiency asynchronous motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors.
06 Diversity of communication protocols
It can support various communication protocols and industrial Ethernet.
07 Wide capacity range
For large capacity requirements of equipment such as mixers, the supported capacity range is 0.1-630kW.
