【Introduction】With the gradual development of science and technology and the popularization of the concept of smart home, I believe that many people have more or less a few appliances that can be controlled by smartphones or APPs at home or in the company. Artificial intelligence, big data, and biometric black technology have subtly penetrated into hotels, classrooms, and hostels. The application of human body sensors is becoming more and more extensive, which can not only realize the intelligent scenes of hotels, but also control the intelligence of classrooms and homes. For example, it can realize lighting and other fields such as turning on the lights when people come and turning off the lights when people leave.

1. What is a human body sensor?

First, let’s talk about what human body sensors are?

The basic function of the human body sensor is to sense the movement of the human body. It is important to note that it does not sense the human body, but the movement of the human body, which is determined by its principle. It is one of the key sensors of smart home. Strictly speaking, it should be called "object movement sensor" (because it does not have the function of human detection, pets or other moving objects may trigger it).

Working principle of human body sensor:

When a person walks into the sensor's monitoring range, the human body sensor will be triggered (someone is present), and then other smart devices will be linked, such as the most common turning on of the light. When a person walks out of the sensor's monitoring range and no one moves within the set time, the human body sensor will be triggered (no one is present), and other smart devices will be linked, such as the most common turning off of the light.

Most of the human body sensors on the market now use the thermocouple effect as the principle. Some products use other principles, but the current cost is high, the technology is not mature enough, and there are very few applications. Thermoelectric effect refers to the spontaneous polarization of some crystals. When the temperature changes, surface polarization charges are generated in a certain direction, that is, the electric potential changes. Infrared has a significant thermal effect. All objects will radiate infrared light related to their own temperature, and the human body is no exception. Once this infrared light is irradiated on the pyroelectric material, it will cause the pyroelectric material to produce a slight potential change. By conditioning and amplifying the signal of this potential change, it can be determined whether the human body is moving.

The infrared rays emitted by the human body are very weak, so the general human body sensors can also focus on the infrared rays emitted by the human body, so it has a wide range of uses. When the human body moves, the infrared rays will be emitted alternately through the "blind area" and the "high sensitivity area", thereby achieving higher detection accuracy.
