PN8149 achieves ultra-low standby power consumption and optimal efficiency under the full voltage range through the hybrid technology of three pulse power regulation modes of Hi-mode, Eco-mode and Burst-mode and the low-power structure technology of special devices. Good EMI performance is fully guaranteed by frequency modulation technology and Soft Driver technology. The chip also has a built-in intelligent high-voltage startup module. PN8149 provides an advanced implementation platform for cost-effective flyback switching power supply systems that require ultra-low standby power consumption, and is very suitable for applications of six-level energy efficiency standards, Eur2.0, and Energy Star.
Features of PN8149 power IC chip for small household appliances:
1. Standby power consumption can be significantly reduced (less than 50mW), because the IC's own working current is extremely small, and the built-in high-voltage startup MOS tube automatically turns off the startup tube after the IC starts;
2. No high-voltage startup resistor and VDDG resistor are required, the components are streamlined, and the startup is faster (less than 200ms), which is 10 times faster than ordinary high-voltage resistor startup.
3. Good EMI characteristics, CE margin is greater than 8dB (no output common mode inductor), RE margin is greater than 5dB (no output common mode inductor);
4. Built-in 16-level soft start function, safer.
5. The built-in power MOS tube has a small internal resistance (1.7-4Ω), and the temperature rise is lower at the same output power.
6. It can withstand the open short circuit/reverse connection damage test of any external component, including CS short circuit protection, to prevent the CS resistor from short circuiting and other components from burning the IC during production line processing, and improve the production line pass rate; many competing products will explode when turned on after CS short circuit.
7. Adopting the self-designed high avalanche capability intelligent switch MOSFET, it can still work normally without burning out under AC264V without RCD in the 18W flyback system, which shows the impact resistance of the core power device. 8.
Through the three hybrid regulation mode technologies of Hi-mode, Eco-mode and Burst-mode, in the appropriate design scheme, it can fully meet the four-point average efficiency standard of the six-level energy efficiency (with output line).
