There are various types of capacitors, which can be divided into ceramic capacitors, supercapacitors, and electrolytic capacitors according to the production materials. As an indispensable electronic component for electronic products such as mobile phones and televisions, ceramic capacitors have the advantages of miniaturization, high voltage resistance, and good frequency characteristics and are used in electronic products.
Ceramic capacitors use high dielectric constant ceramics as dielectrics, which are calcined at high temperatures to form silver films as electrodes. Lead wires are welded to the electrodes, and the surface is coated with protective magnetic paint or encapsulated with epoxy resin.
Ceramic capacitors play different functions in different circuits. Ceramic capacitors play the role of coupling, decoupling, filtering and smoothing in circuits.
Zhixu Ceramic Capacitors
1. Coupling
The ceramic capacitor used in the coupling circuit is called a coupling capacitor. This type of capacitor circuit is widely used in RC coupling amplifiers and other capacitive coupling circuits. It plays the role of blocking DC and passing AC. It serves as a connection between two circuits, allowing AC signals to pass and be transmitted to the next level circuit.
2. Decoupling
This provides a low impedance path for some parallel components in the AC circuit. In the circuit, the decoupling capacitor filters out the interference of the output signal. The decoupling capacitor connected between the power supply and the ground plays three roles: first, it serves as the energy storage capacitor of the integrated circuit; second, it filters out the high-frequency noise generated by the device and cuts off its path for transmission through the power supply circuit; third, it prevents the noise carried by the power supply from interfering with the circuit.
3. Filtering
The ceramic capacitor used in the filter circuit is called the filter capacitor. The filter capacitor will remove the signal within a certain frequency band from the total signal. Therefore, in the power supply circuit, the rectifier circuit converts the AC into pulsating DC, and a larger-capacity ceramic capacitor is connected after the rectifier circuit. By utilizing its charging and discharging characteristics, the rectified pulsating DC voltage can be converted into a relatively stable DC voltage.
4. Smooth
It is used to suppress pulses generated in the power supply circuit after rectification and smooth the signal to make it closer to direct current. If a smoothing capacitor is inserted after rectification, the capacitor can store electricity when the voltage is high and discharge it when the voltage is low, thus effectively suppressing voltage fluctuations.
