01. Anlu SparkRoad domestic FPGA review [unboxing] [Copy link]

 This post was last edited by 1nnocent on 2022-7-14 22:23

I have been learning about Xilinx's FPGA development board recently. I happened to see that EE had an FPGA development board review, so I applied for an Anlu FPGA development board side review.

I received the board today. It is smaller than I expected, about the size of my palm. After unpacking the box, the contents are also very simple, a board, two data cables (one is a micro cable and the other is a Type-C cable), two acrylic plates, and several fixing screws and studs.

Take a quick look at the board's peripherals:

1. 16 DIP switches (to control 16 LED beads). In my impression, there is basically no DIP switch on the development board. This is the first time I have seen it on a development board.

2. Then there are the four-digit digital tubes. The digital tubes use SMDs, which are smaller in size. There is a reason why the board can be so small.

3. Five buttons, each of which is a touch switch of the patch;

4. Onboard RGB tri-color light;

5. UART serial port;

6. If there is only one VGA interface, the loopback experiment cannot be realized (it may be that the number of pins is limited and only one VGA interface is used). The Xilinx board currently used has two HDMI interfaces, which can realize the loopback experiment;

7. An OV2640 camera interface, with VGA interface display. I was just wondering what a VGA interface can do. I don’t have a camera module at hand.

Now power on to test whether there is any problem with the hardware. Check the digital tube, button, reset button, RGB three-color light, DIP switch and LED lamp beads in turn. The following are the phenomena:

I don't have a VGA cable, so I'm only testing these. There should be no problem with the hardware.

I am also a novice and have done some tests before. If you are interested, you can take a look at the posts I posted. The hardware of this board is still very good.  Details Published on 2022-7-15 10:46

FPGA control is programmable logic. In theory, there are unlimited signals without interference, so it is much faster.

Theoretically, this is the case.  Details Published on 2022-7-15 10:26

I remember I have worked on the VGA of this board. Can you come and tell me about it? @littleshrimp
