IAR Systems is pleased to announce the release of the new IAR Embedded Workbench 3.10 and IAR Build Tools (Renesas RH850 Edition) to fully support the Renesas RH850 for creating the next generation of breakthrough solutions for the automotive industry and to help the automotive industry innovate
Uppsala, Sweden, July 5, 2022 – Increasingly complex automotive applications require real-time control without sacrificing performance, and the modern multicore RH850 automotive MCU from Renesas can help achieve this goal. As the only global supplier of development tools for the full range of Renesas MCUs, IAR Systems has strengthened its long-standing partnership with the latest versions of IAR Embedded Workbench and IAR Build Tools (RH850 Edition).
IAR Embedded Workbench and IAR Build Tools (RH850 Edition) have been upgraded to the latest technology platform, including the use of the latest C/C++ language (support for C++17 language standard library), which will enable developers to build more advanced code to handle more complex tasks.
In addition, the latest version also includes a 64-bit IDE and editor with a dark mode for programmers, as well as a streamlined cross-platform IAR build tool for automated build and test processes of the framework built on Ubuntu, Red Hat or Windows.
This release also provides developers with extensions for Visual Studio Code to meet growing customer demand. These extensions are compatible with the latest versions of IAR Embedded Workbench and IAR Build Tools (RH850 Edition) and can be easily obtained by visiting the Visual Studio Code Marketplace.
The latest version of the IAR toolchain (RH850 Edition) supports all the latest versions of the Renesas RH850 high-performance and scalable multi-core MCUs.
"Our RH850 embedded development solution, built on the latest technology platform, greatly simplifies the use of high-performance multi-core MCUs, thereby increasing the innovation capabilities of our mutual customers," said Rafael Taubinger, senior product marketing manager at IAR Systems.
The IAR tool chain provides superior design flexibility for embedded developers using the broad Renesas product line. Not only that, the tool also has excellent performance, allowing customers to easily switch between different architectures and select the architecture that best suits a specific application while using the same set of development tools. IAR Systems' products have proven to simplify code reuse, shorten time to market, reduce design time and project costs, while increasing productivity, allowing developers to focus on accelerating innovation.
Since the beginning of the collaboration, IAR Systems and Renesas have established a deep and strong relationship based on trust, thought leadership and a shared vision for innovation and customer success. As a Renesas Alliance Partner, IAR Systems will continue to provide high-end tools for all Renesas MCUs in addition to the more than 4,000 Renesas devices already supported.
