Codasip appoints Vice President of Functional Safety (FuSa) to prepare for automotive industry expansion
Dave Higham, a renowned expert in ISO 26262 road vehicle functional safety international standard and safety, will continue to drive Codasip to expand custom processor opportunities
Munich, Germany, February 2022 – Codasip, a leading provider of customizable processor IP, has appointed Dave Higham as Group Vice President of Functional Safety. Dave’s deep expertise in functional safety and security performance will accelerate new applications of Codasip’s RISC-V processor IP and Studio custom processor design tools in the automotive and industrial sectors.
Dave will provide direct support to customers looking to leverage Codasip’s tools and development platform to deliver breakthrough innovations, particularly in areas such as connected and autonomous vehicles. In addition to playing a key role in the ISO 26262 industry specification space, the VP of Functional Safety will have a broader role as functional safety and security (such as ISO 21434) are key to many areas of technology.
Karel Masařík, Founder and President of Codasip, commented: "Dave brings a deep understanding of functional safety to Codasip, with decades of experience at DELPHI, a Tier 1 automotive technology supplier, combined with extensive experience working at several global semiconductor product suppliers. I have no doubt that he will help Codasip's clients maximize innovation opportunities within this market segment and navigate safety regulatory requirements more intelligently."
Dave Higham added: “Automotive is the most obvious growth market for Codasip’s processor IP and Studio tools. But in many markets, functional safety and security go hand in hand and our customers want to include these in any design. Codasip is uniquely positioned to enable architectural features in our tools, working principles and standard products to ensure functional safety and security are included in the design.”
