Huawei recently disclosed a patent for "A method and electronic device for emergency calls", with application publication number CN113163052A and application date of January 2020.
The Qichacha patent abstract shows that this application provides an emergency call method, which is applied to an electronic device. When the electronic device is in a locked screen state, a first operation of the user is detected on the display screen; in response to the first operation, the electronic device displays an emergency call interface through the display screen, and after the first preset time period, automatically places a call to a first emergency call number, and the one or more emergency numbers include the first emergency call number, etc.
This patent helps users to quickly initiate emergency calls using electronic devices in emergency situations.
The reporter learned that emergency calls are the acts of seeking help initiated by users through mobile terminals when they are in danger. They are the guarantee of personal and property safety at critical moments. With the frequent occurrence of emergency situations such as emergency medical assistance, traffic accidents, and natural disasters, the importance of emergency calls is increasing, and the laws and regulations of various countries have made corresponding requirements for emergency calls.
Unlike ordinary phone calls, emergency calls may need to be made in any scenario, and the worse the environment, the stronger the user's demand for emergency calls. For example, when there is a fire, the user hopes to make an emergency call as quickly as possible. When being held hostage by criminals, the user hopes to call the police without being discovered.
