A building in the Foxconn Park in Shenzhen caught fire. The building on fire was Building C11. From the exposed videos and photos, the scene was full of flames, black smoke, and explosions from time to time. Foxconn responded that a small area of fire broke out on the roof of a building in the Guanlan Park this morning, which was quickly extinguished with the assistance of the fire department. The cause is currently under investigation. There were no casualties in the incident, and it did not affect the production of the park.
According to public information, Foxconn Industrial Internet Co., Ltd. (A-share code 601138) is located in Longhua Street, Longhua District, Shenzhen, and is mainly engaged in the design, research and development, manufacturing and sales of various electronic equipment products. It invested in building a factory in Shenzhen in 1988. The legal representative of the company is Li Junqi. As an Apple iPhone OEM company, Foxconn Guanlan Factory is one of the main production bases of Apple iPhone.
Similar incidents have occurred in Foxconn subsidiaries before. On January 24, 2016, at around 5:50 p.m., a small-scale fire broke out in a building at Hon Hai Foxconn's Zhengzhou plant. It is reported that the fire brigade in the plant quickly controlled and extinguished the fire after receiving the notification. No one was injured and there was no impact on the operation of the plant. In August 2017, a fire broke out in the cooling tower on the roof of the abandoned plant of Zhen Ding Technology in Huai'an Economic and Technological Development Zone, a subsidiary of Foxconn. Local police and firefighters immediately rushed to the scene to put out the fire, and then quickly put out the open fire, and no one was injured.
