At this time, according to the doctor, we will change to sleep monitoring.
Smart watches are watches that have information processing capabilities and meet the basic technical requirements of watches. In addition to indicating time, smart watches should also have one or more functions such as reminders, navigation, calibration, monitoring, and interaction; display methods include pointers, numbers, images, etc.
Although the sleep monitoring function of smart watches is not used frequently, many smart watches still have this function. Similar to the monitoring principle of smart bracelets, smart watches actually monitor sleep data through built-in sensors, such as three-axis accelerometers to judge sleep quality. Simply put, the accelerometer can measure the quality of sleep by monitoring the amplitude and frequency of wrist movements during sleep. The principle of this method has also been demonstrated in the paper. Although its accuracy cannot be compared with the data monitored by PSG, it can reflect the general sleep situation.
From my actual experience, the sleep monitoring of smart watches can only achieve the effect of monitoring, that is, it can help you analyze deep sleep, breathing, heart rate and other data, but it cannot accurately reflect the sleep situation. There is still a certain gap with the real sleep monitoring in the hospital. However, I personally think that it is worth affirming as a reference for sleep conditions. If your sleep has reached a very bad state, it is recommended to go to the hospital for formal testing. If you just want to check your sleep quality, or urge yourself to go to bed earlier through this sleep quality, then non-wearable sleep monitoring is a good choice.
