ASUS has upgraded its X299 enthusiast motherboards and launched three new products at once: ROG Rampage VI Extreme Encore, ROG Strix X299-E Gaming II, and Prime X299-A II, which also revealed a secret. ASUS mentioned in the specification sheet that its X299 motherboards will support Core i9-10000 X series processors. Obviously, this is the next generation of enthusiast products code-named Cascade Lake-X, and it uses five-digit numbers like the 10th generation Core on laptops.

And unlike the current product line, this time all the enthusiast-level Core X will be classified into the i9 series, and there will no longer be i7.

By this calculation, the desktop version of the 10th generation Core will definitely be in the five digits, and the legendary Core i9-109900K is really possible...

ASUS also confirmed that the new generation of Core X will support up to 48 PCIe 3.0 buses, 4 more than now, which can provide more bandwidth for multiple cards in parallel.

In addition, ASUS's new X299 motherboard will support up to 256GB of DDR4 memory, which is double the current amount. At the same time, the memory frequency can reach up to 4266MHz, which is 133MHz higher than now.

Cascade Lake-X has begun to appear in test software. At present, it still has a maximum of 18 cores and 36 threads (of course, the possibility of increase is not ruled out), and the frequency will continue to increase.
