According to the 2018 "Major Commodity and Service Market Share Survey" conducted by Nikkei, South Korea ranked first in five of the 74 global market shares, two items less than in 2017.

In terms of VR headsets, since Samsung canceled its strategy of giving away VR glasses with the purchase of the company's smartphones, Sony's market share in 2018 increased by 3.7% year-on-year to 24%, ranking first; Samsung's market share decreased by 23.3% year-on-year to 8.4%, falling to fourth place.

According to the report, Samsung's preliminary financial report released on July 5 showed that in the consolidated financial statements for Q2 2019, operating profit decreased by 56% year-on-year.

Yujin Investment Securities in South Korea said that the average price of DRAM in the second quarter of 2019 fell by nearly 50% compared with the same period last year, and estimated that the unit price will continue to fall until the end of the year. Samsung's global semiconductor throne, which it took from Intel in 2017, is also likely to be taken back by Intel in 2019.
