Tesla, the electric car maker, reportedly has delivered 49,000 electric cars to customers in North America since the second quarter, and it may be difficult to achieve its record-breaking goal at this pace. Tesla's stock price fell nearly 2% on Tuesday, U.S. time.
Last month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company was on track to set a record for vehicle deliveries this quarter, breaking last year's fourth quarter record of 90,700 vehicles delivered.
The delivery numbers mentioned above are only for North America, but the number of deliveries Tesla made in foreign markets this quarter is not mentioned.
According to a report by Electrek, Tesla insiders revealed that there are currently 12,000 additional orders, and Tesla's total vehicle deliveries in North America this quarter will reach 61,000. The report also pointed out that an insider said that Tesla's vehicle deliveries in North America have reached 22,000 since June.
Tesla's first-quarter vehicle deliveries fell 31 percent, raising concerns about the company's profitability and ability to meet delivery targets. Tesla is also facing cash flow and production problems.
In addition, Tesla's weak demand in the first quarter amid trade tensions has also caused investors to worry about demand for Tesla Model 3 and other models.
