According to Upstream News, as an inland reform and opening-up highland, Chongqing, relying on its strong industrial foundation and market advantages, is vigorously promoting Chongqing enterprises to implement intelligent transformation, and continuously improving the quality and efficiency of the city's manufacturing development by replacing people with intelligent machines. This requires the robotics industry as a supporting factor.

Chongqing's intelligent industry is building a complete "one north and one west" robot industry layout: "North" is Liangjiang New Area Shuitu is striving to build a robot industry highland in the western region, and "West" is Yongchuan is building a national industrial robot high-tech industrialization base.

Recently, the reporter conducted an in-depth analysis of the development status of Chongqing's robotics industry through enterprises in two machine industrial parks.

Recently, the reporter came to Changan Leis (Chongqing) Robot Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. in the Shuitu Industrial Park of Liangjiang New District, where workers were debugging and installing machines.

"As the first mass-produced sensitive robot suitable for human-machine collaboration, it was applied in the Chongqing market at the beginning of this year." The person in charge of Changan Leica told reporters that this robot is Kuka iiwa. Kuka iiwa is equipped with torque sensors on all 7 axes and adopts safety technology; the LBR iiwa with a payload of 14 kg has a load-to-weight ratio of 0.47.

He told reporters that this robot is called an intelligent industrial assistant and is a fully automated robot developed by KUKA with contour-based autonomous navigation capabilities.

The reporter learned that iiwa is fully automated, has a shorter response time and higher flexibility. The groundbreaking product performance and wide application areas of this robot have opened a new era for the development of industrial robots.

It is reported that Changan Leica is a Sino-foreign joint venture jointly established by Changan (Group) and Germany's Kuka Group. It provides enterprises with professional technical consultation, solution design, project management, engineering design, system integration, installation and commissioning, and after-sales services in intelligent equipment (robot body, robot unit) and automated production lines (body-in-white production lines, general industrial production lines).

"Since its establishment, Changan Leica has obtained orders worth more than 500 million yuan in total." The person in charge of Changan Leica told reporters that they have provided technical services to many well-known companies such as Changan Automobile, Tiema Group, Yangtze Electric, BAIC Yinxiang, Pingwei Group, and Bainengda Push, as well as provided products and technical services to companies across the country, successfully delivering more than 30 projects and applying more than 2,000 robots.

While Changan Leise is making efforts, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, a robot manufacturer located in the Shuitu Industrial Development Zone of Liangjiang New District, is also not idle. It is expanding its production lines to increase production capacity.

As the only overseas robot body manufacturer of Japan's Kawasaki Corporation, the company is increasing its research and development efforts while also working hard to promote the localization of robot manufacturing. In addition to the double-wrist robot, key components of a variety of products such as the "Handling Hercules" palletizing robot and the "Welding Expert" arc welding robot have also been "made in Chongqing". In addition, the company also provides workshop production line system integration and other services to vehicle manufacturers such as Changan and Lifan. A relevant person in charge of Kawasaki (Chongqing) Company said that in 2018, the output value of robots of Kawasaki (Chongqing) Company reached about 500 million yuan, and the output value is expected to grow rapidly this year. At the same time, the products will also radiate to Sichuan, Guizhou, and even the whole country.

On April 16, the reporter learned from the Shuitu Industrial Park of Liangjiang New Area that in 2018, the robot and intelligent manufacturing equipment industry in the directly-administered area of Liangjiang New Area achieved an output value of 2.81 billion yuan, and produced more than 2,742 sets of industrial robots. Now, the robot body manufacturing has been introduced, including the world's top three Fanuc, ABB, Kuka and the world's fifth Kawasaki, the domestic leader Wasu, the domestic leading motor company Dengqi Electromechanical Technology with independent intellectual property rights, and the system integration projects represented by Weilian and Jiayi Juxin, and the pattern of "high-end industrial robots gathering, key components starting, and the industry ecology gradually improving" has been initially formed. In addition, the Liangjiang New Area Branch of Chongqing Robot and Intelligent Equipment Industry Federation is listed here.

With the arrival of robot companies, the National Robot Testing and Assessment Center (Chongqing) has also settled in Liangjiang New Area, issuing "licenses" for robots made in Chongqing. From production to sales, as well as research and development, the robot industry highland created by Liangjiang New Area has a complete system.

The National Robot Testing and Assessment Center (Chongqing) is the only national third-party robot testing and assessment organization in the western region, with two major platforms: robot research and development and testing. It has four major laboratories, including industrial robot laboratory, service robot laboratory, component laboratory, and environmental (including EMC, NVH) laboratory, which can provide more than 300 testing service projects, covering more than 100 robot-related standards. With the completion and operation of the National Robot Testing and Assessment Center (Chongqing) in Liangjiang New District, it will focus on improving product quality and market competitiveness in terms of standards, testing, and certification, injecting strong impetus into the development of Chongqing's robot industry.

It is reported that after 8 years of construction, Shuitu has basically formed a robot "one zone and six platforms" industrial ecology represented by the National Robot Testing and Assessment Chongqing Center, and introduced nearly 15 robot body manufacturing and system integration projects with a total signed investment of nearly 2 billion yuan. The annual output value is expected to reach 3.3 billion yuan after reaching full production.

According to the plan, by 2020, the Shuitu Industrial Park in Liangjiang New Area will achieve an annual output of 12,000 industrial robots, more than 20,000 service robots and special robots, and the annual output value of robots and intelligent manufacturing will exceed 10 billion yuan, making it a leading domestic robot industry base.
