According to foreign media reports, Japan's TDK announced a breakthrough in the materials used in its small solid-state batteries. The energy density of this new material (that is, the amount of electricity that can be squeezed into a given space) is 1,000 watt-hours per liter, which is about 100 times that of TDK's current mass-produced batteries. The Apple supplier expects that the performance of devices ranging from wireless headphones to smart watches will be significantly improved.
