Is it suitable for use on Earth? NASA recently open-sourced the Linux flight control code for the Mars drone [Copy link]

On February 19 this year, the $2.7 billion Mars rover Perseverance landed safely on the surface of Mars. In addition to the rover itself, Perseverance also carried a one-ton mobile laboratory and a 1.8-kilogram unmanned helicopter, Ingenuity.

I was excited to hear that NASA had open-sourced the Linux flight control code for Ingenuity on Github (NASA Mars drone open source address: https://github.com/nasa/fprime), because I can now make the same model.

But taking off a helicopter on Mars is not the same as flying on Earth. The gravity on Mars is only one-third of that on Earth, and the air density on the surface of Mars is only 1% of that on Earth. The thin air makes it difficult for a helicopter to gain enough lift. So the corresponding control parameters should be different, and it seems that they cannot be used directly. . . .

Of course, the cost will be greatly reduced, the motor speed does not need to be as high as the Zhizhi, and the blade size can be appropriately reduced. However, if it is homemade, the coaxial transmission device is not easy to achieve, which is much more difficult than the four-axis.
