From January 9th to 12th, Hesai Technology appeared at CES 2024, the world's largest consumer electronics show, and exhibited its latest product AT512. As the "comprehensive performance product" of Hesai's AT series, AT512 demonstrates breakthrough progress in lidar technology and is mainly targeted at mass-produced smart driving models that have high requirements for performance, reliability, and safety.
AT512 is equipped with Hesai's latest fourth-generation self-developed chip. By introducing cutting-edge technologies such as 3D stacking and optical noise suppression, the AT512 achieves comprehensive performance upgrades while maintaining the same size with optical transceiver efficiency and vertical integration capabilities.
As one of the essential sensors for high-end intelligent driving, lidar has gradually become a standard feature of intelligent vehicles due to its advantages such as anti-interference, true three-dimensionality, and high confidence. Lidar has longer-distance ranging capabilities, which means that smart cars can detect potential crises at greater distances, providing more reaction time for system decision-making, thereby improving driving safety and comfort.
AT512 can achieve standard distance measurement of 300 meters (@10% reflectivity), which is 50% higher than AT128. The longest measuring range reaches 400 meters, which is twice that of similar long-range lidars on the market. Both vehicles and pedestrians at a distance of 400 meters can be keenly captured, improving the vehicle's perception of the surrounding environment. The ultra-long distance measurement performance of AT512 allows the vehicle to detect targets at least twice the distance ahead of time, increasing the reaction time by more than 40% for system safety decision-making.
Hesai's first three generations of self-developed lidar chips have all been successfully mass-produced and delivered on a large scale. Based on the successful experience of multiple self-developed chips, Hesai’s latest fourth-generation self-developed chip can achieve a maximum processing point performance of more than 100 million points per second. Thanks to the improved integration of Hesai's fourth-generation chip, AT512 provides cars with image-level ultra-clear three-dimensional perception at an ultra-high pixel frequency of about 12.3 million points per second, with a globally uniform angular resolution of 0.05° x 0.05°. The cloud density is 8 times that of AT128.
At present, the AT series has received pre-installation mass production project designations from 15 leading OEMs including SAIC and FAW and more than 50 Tier models. Since its establishment, Hesai Lidar's cumulative delivery volume has exceeded 300,000 units, and its monthly delivery volume exceeded 50,000 units in December last year, setting a new industry single-month delivery record. Hesai lidar has successfully experienced quality verification in actual use by users for more than a year on the order of 100,000+ units.
