Recently, the China Electric Vehicle Hundreds Association Longzhong Forum (2023) concluded successfully in Xiangyang, Hubei. The forum invited more than 50 industry experts and business representatives from relevant government departments, automobiles, energy, information, transportation and other industries to deliver keynote speeches , jointly discuss new measures for the integration and development of vehicles, energy, roads and clouds, and jointly explore a new ecology for the integration and development of vehicles, energy, roads and clouds. Zhang Ranmao, General Manager of China Unicom Intelligent Network Technology, was recently invited to participate in the "Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration Development Forum", demonstrating China Unicom's positive attitude in the development of vehicle-road-cloud integration, and also highlighted the importance of this solution in promoting autonomous driving in China. sex.
Zhang Ranmao believes that the current industry is transforming from individual intelligence to collaborative intelligence, and achieving this goal is inseparable from the support of digital infrastructure. The new digital infrastructure will integrate the intelligent transformation of 5G communication networks and road infrastructure, and combine it with intelligent driving technology and related control technologies for vehicle-road collaboration to build a new digital infrastructure for the integration of Internet of Vehicles and vehicle-road collaboration.
Accelerate the implementation of vehicle-road-cloud integration solution
Zhang Ranmao said that China Unicom, as a digital infrastructure operator, has been actively promoting the practice of China's route, proposing the "Intelligent Vehicle-Road Collaboration System Standard Framework" with all elements of "people, vehicles, roads, network edge and cloud", and promoting 5G and C- V2X integrated networking actively exports cloud network, digital security and other capabilities to accelerate the scenario-based implementation of vehicle-road-cloud integration. China Unicom takes "integrated innovation of MEC and V2X" as the key entry point to build a standard information interaction framework of "collaborative sensing, decision-making, and control" and provide innovative vehicle-road-cloud integration concepts.
Zhang Ranmao further pointed out that the industry still faces three major challenges in the process of promoting vehicle-road-cloud integration. First of all, there are many pilot projects in various places and they are working independently. Therefore, coordination and unification are needed in terms of cloud network infrastructure and intelligent dispatching platform. Secondly, the collaborative development of vehicles and roads requires more powerful edge computing and perception capabilities, which are crucial to realizing intelligent driving. Finally, different technical paths and map engines require unified solutions to facilitate smooth collaborative work.
Create new infrastructure service capabilities
China Unicom has created new infrastructure service capabilities based on industry pain points. The edge cloud architecture is adopted to support the sharing of data awareness at multiple intersections, solving the problem of cross-temporal tracking of targets at multiple intersections; the vehicle-road cloud collaboration method is adopted to obtain vehicle information through roadside sensing, realize online cloud calibration work, and improve later operation and maintenance. The effect; through the car-to-road cloud solution, it integrates the empowerment of the field and the cloud to realize L4 intelligent driving, reduce the computing cost of the vehicle, and explore the commercial closed loop of infrastructure services.
Multi-scenario, large-scale "Legion" exploration
Based on the above innovation capabilities, China Unicom has conducted multi-scenario and large-scale attempts using the "Legion Model" and has initially formed a business case. In Boao, based on the cloud-edge collaborative infrastructure, Legion conducted different traffic scene switching and different types of autonomous vehicle scene operations; in Yazhou, it solved a large number of data forwarding, data synchronization and collaborative processing problems, and carried out demonstrations of characteristic application scenarios. ; Cooperating with Suzhou Industrial Park, we promoted the implementation of automatic parking scenarios integrating vehicle, road and cloud at the World Intelligent Transportation Conference, and explored innovative models for smart transportation infrastructure operations.
Finally, Zhang Ranmao said that China Unicom is willing to join hands with all parties in the industrial ecosystem to jointly explore urban construction with Chinese characteristics and the transformation path of the automotive industry, and develop new operating models for innovative smart driving scenarios based on vehicle-road-cloud integration.
