1. "C-V2X Internet of Vehicles Technology Development and Industrial Practice White Paper (2022)" released
The report was compiled by core members of the China Communications Society's Internet of Vehicles Committee in collaboration with industry, universities and scientific research institutions. It has been released for the fourth year. Chen Shanzhi serves as the leader of the expert group, and academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Wang Yunpeng, Fang Binxing, Wu Hequan, Li Keqiang, Li Jun, Li Deyi, and Zhang Ping serve as consultants. The members of the expert group come from China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, China Mobile, Dongfeng Motor, China Society of Automotive Engineers, A total of 22 units and more than 40 authors from Tongji University, Baidu, China Automotive Industry Center, China Communications Society, etc. participated in the preparation of this report.
At present, C-V2X Internet of Vehicles is at a critical stage from application demonstration to large-scale commercialization. my country's Internet of Vehicles-related standard system has basically formed, and cooperation with industry standards committees continues to advance. C-V2X technology has become the global de facto Internet of Vehicles communication standard. my country Large-scale demonstration activities for the Internet of Vehicles continue to be implemented, and the industrial ecology is gradually improving. C-V2X technology has been recognized by the automobile industry, and the trend of mass production and use in vehicles is obvious.
This white paper focuses on the development and industrial practice of C-V2X Internet of Vehicles technology, with a view to systematically studying the global development trend of Internet of Vehicles, the development situation of Internet of Vehicles in my country, technology development trends and deployment problems, and providing insights into the development of intelligent networks based on vehicle-road-cloud collaboration in my country. Provide constructive suggestions on connected cars and smart transportation. This report covers a wide range of topics and can be used as a reference for the development of technology industries in universities, research institutions, automobiles, transportation, communications, Internet, integrated circuits and other industries, as well as for government departments to formulate policies.
In this report, the C-V2X Internet of Vehicles industry path is further explained: my country's C-V2X Internet of Vehicles development path can be divided into two major stages: the short term and the medium and long term. In the near future, intelligent network-connected assisted driving and medium- and low-speed driverless driving in specific scenarios will be realized; in the mid-to-long term, all-weather, all-scenario intelligent network-connected driverless driving will be realized.
This white paper puts forward some suggestions for the development of the Internet of Vehicles industry, including:
Strengthen guidance and coordination at the national strategic level and build a coordinated and efficient inter-ministerial and inter-industry organizational coordination mechanism;
Accelerate the implementation of the C-V2X Internet of Vehicles technology route and occupy the strategic commanding heights of the Internet of Vehicles industry;
Establish commercial operation entities and strengthen industrial collaboration;
Accelerate the improvement of roadside equipment coverage and vehicle terminal penetration, and strengthen interconnection;
Increase large-scale demonstration applications and promote industrial implementation;
Strengthen integration innovation and promote in-depth application of basic supporting technologies for the Internet of Vehicles;
Pay attention to information security and promote the application and deployment of security solutions.
2. "White Paper on Intellectual Property Rights of Internet of Vehicles (2022)" released
This white paper is based on the overall arrangement of the research and consulting work of the China Communications Society. The Intellectual Property Center of the China Communications Society organized experts related to the Internet of Vehicles and intellectual property in my country to write the "White Paper on Intellectual Property Rights of the Internet of Vehicles (2022)". The leader of the expert group is Zhou Jianming, a full-time member of the Standing Committee of the Communications Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the consultants are Zhang Yanchuan, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Institute of Communications, Yu Xiaohui, President of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Wang Zhiqin, Vice President of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and Hu Jianbo, chief engineer of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, serves as the author, and members of the writing team include experts from the China Institute of Communications and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
By investigating the industrial ecology, technology development and patent situation in the field of Internet of Vehicles, this white paper explores the establishment of ideas for the collaborative use of intellectual property that are compatible with the overall height and long-term planning of the development of my country's Internet of Vehicles industry, and creates a platform that is conducive to the integration of the Internet of Vehicles industry chain. Innovative service models for downstream technology and intellectual property resources and industry intellectual property development ideas.
In the process of promoting the development of my country's Internet of Vehicles industry, it is clear to strengthen the overall layout and coordinated construction of transportation infrastructure and information infrastructure to promote the large-scale deployment of LTE-V2X. As of May 2022, the global number of patent applications in the field of Internet of Vehicles has reached 125,326. The main applicants are concentrated in traditional car manufacturers, automotive component companies, communications companies and Internet high-tech companies. China, the United States, and Japan are the main technology original countries and target market countries in the field of intelligent connected cars.
In recent years, with the continuous development and maturity of peripheral supporting technologies such as communication technology, sensing technology, and computing technology, Internet of Vehicles technology has entered an active stage. Especially with the introduction of the 5G concept, more and more companies have joined in technological innovation and patent layout in the field of Internet of Vehicles. The content of the white paper shows that around 2015, technological innovation in 5G communication systems provided objective application conditions for the realization of autonomous driving, and a large number of innovations in V2X technology and autonomous driving related technologies led to patent applications in this field. The layout advantage of Chinese applicants is mainly reflected in the direction of V2X technology. Leading communications companies such as Huawei, China Information Technology/Datang, and ZTE have large patent scales. The regional distribution of global LTE-V2X patent acceptances shows that my country is the country that accepts the largest number of LTE-V2X patents. The geographical distribution of global NR-V2X patent acceptances shows that China, the United States, Europe and South Korea are important receiving countries for patents related to NR-V2X technology. Chinese companies that have applied for overseas patents on NR-V2X technology mainly include Huawei, China Information Technology/Datang, ZTE, etc.
