On September 22, Dongfeng Motor announced that its latest power battery system has passed actual vehicle testing and its driving range can exceed 1,000 km.


It is reported that the power battery system is developed based on independent high-efficiency grouping technology, with an energy density exceeding 230Wh/kg. It also uses a high-strength aluminum alloy frame to achieve a battery first-order mode of more than 60Hz. It can reach more than 2 times the relevant national standards (≥200KN extrusion force, no structural failure); through structural topology optimization, the battery pack structure can be made more than 3 times durable than the national standard.


A fire extinguishing system is also introduced to achieve rapid fire extinguishing - a sprinkler fire extinguishing pipe is arranged above the module, and the fire extinguishing pipe is integrated with the module. Special materials are used in some parts of the pipe. When melted by high temperature, it triggers the spraying of hexafluoroperfluoroketone gas-liquid two-phase fire extinguishing solvent to achieve rapid fire extinguishing.



It also adopts an intelligent all-weather battery safety management system. With the support of high-precision SOX (battery state) estimation and lithium dendrite self-repair technology, the service life, human-computer interaction experience and driving range calculation accuracy of the power battery system are greatly improved.
