On September 3, Xinwanda Electric Vehicle Battery Co., Ltd. released the super fast charging power battery product SFC480. It is understood that this product can achieve an energy retention rate of more than 85% at a low temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius, a volume utilization rate of more than 72%, and no heat diffusion. The maximum charging power is 480kW, and a single charge can achieve a range of 700 kilometers. Charging for 5 minutes can support a range of 200 kilometers.


The key technologies of the super-charged battery released by Xinwangda this time lie in material system innovation, battery process innovation, and key structure innovation.


Specifically, from the performance point of view, Xinwangda's super charging product SFC480 can do the following:


Material innovation is mainly related to material-level safety protection. Using medium-nickel high voltage is safer than high-nickel. Dr. Zhang Yao, vice president of Sunwoda Electric Vehicle Battery Co., Ltd., said at the press conference that all of Sunwoda's super-fast charging battery products use the most stringent standards for thermal diffusion testing, which can be said to be one of the highest standards for related tests in the industry;


Excellent low temperature performance, energy retention rate is higher than 85% at -20℃;


Excellent space utilization, special materials and CTP3.0 structural design, volume utilization rate is greater than 72%;


Dr. Zhang Yao said that this is one of the fastest charging power batteries currently available, and can be charged from 10% to 70% SOC in 10 minutes.


In terms of process innovation, through the composite porous electrode technology, the thickness of the battery cell electrode is increased by about 15%, achieving higher energy density and better kinetic performance;


In terms of structural innovation, the system has implemented 3D liquid cooling technology to achieve higher heating and heat dissipation efficiency, while also reducing costs and achieving higher integration. The battery cells are supported by two structural innovation technologies: stacking and connecting without connecting sheets. The core is 100% CT inspected, with 0 defective outflows, the internal resistance of the battery cell is reduced by 3%, and the temperature rise of supercharging is reduced by ~2°C.


It is understood that the super-charged battery SFC480 has been mass-produced, and related supporting models will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. Considering that many car companies and battery companies have announced that super-fast charging batteries and models will be mass-produced next year, from the timing point of view, Xinwangda automotive batteries are expected to lead the industry in fast charging technology and applications.


In terms of customer development, the company has gradually entered the supply chains of many domestic and foreign OEMs. At the same time, the major domestic and foreign customer orders introduced by the company in the early stage began to be delivered in batches in the first half of this year.


Data shows that in the first half of this year, the company's electric vehicle battery shipments totaled 3.95GWh. In the first half of this year, Xinwangda Automotive Battery achieved operating income of 4.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 632%.


At the same time, Xinwangda Automotive Battery is also actively expanding its production capacity and improving its delivery capabilities.


In December last year, Xinwangda Automotive Battery announced the construction of a power battery and energy storage battery production line with an annual production capacity of 30 GWh in Zaozhuang, Shandong, with a total investment of approximately 20 billion yuan, and will achieve mass production by the end of this year.


This year, Xinwangda Automotive Battery also invested in building an automotive battery production base in Shifang, Sichuan. The Sichuan Shifang project plans to invest 8 billion yuan to build a 20 GWh power battery and energy storage battery production base.


Previously, there was news that Xinwanda had become the A supplier of a certain version of Xiaopeng G9, with a supply share of more than 50%, and the battery used was exactly Xinwanda's 4C ultra-fast charging power battery. However, this news has not been confirmed by Xinwanda, and Xinwanda replied that the announcement of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shall prevail.


So far, Xinwangda Automotive Battery has established several large-scale production bases in Huizhou, Nanjing, Nanchang, Zaozhuang, Shifang, etc. At the same time, the company has also planned other large-scale power battery bases in China and Europe.
