On July 19, Wuling Motors officially announced that it had successfully developed the world's first single-speed electromagnetic DHT hybrid system by leveraging the advantages of its independent technology research and development.

After large-scale testing, Wuling concluded that as many as 90% of the daily usage scenarios of hybrid models are in urban areas, and most of the time the speed is below 80 kilometers per hour, and they are mainly driven by pure electric power.

Hydraulic DHT hybrid systems usually have oil loss problems. The high viscosity of the oil at low temperatures is also the main reason why hybrid vehicles feel uneven when switching from electric drive to front drive.

Wuling's self-developed system is the opposite. Under low and medium speed conditions, the electromagnetic clutch does not engage, the drive motor drives the wheels to rotate, and the internal combustion engine is only responsible for generating electricity. When the vehicle needs to accelerate rapidly, the electromagnetic clutch will be energized and the engine will directly transmit power to the wheel end, making the driving experience smoother.

It is reported that the electromagnetic clutch used in Wuling's self-developed DHT hybrid system can accurately control the speed difference between the front and rear gear plates at 50rpm, which is four times higher than the industry average, and the overall efficiency reaches 98%.

We have reason to believe that after endurance tests such as winter and summer endurance, mountain road endurance and impact crossing, Wuling's single-speed electromagnetic DHT hybrid system can help more users save fuel money.
