Smart transportation is an inevitable trend in the future, which requires ensuring road safety and traffic flow, and cars need to connect to various telematics services and communicate with each other to lay the foundation for its realization. The antenna system provided by TDK is designed to ensure smooth communication. Based on the decisive role of anti-interference and filtering performance, TDK specifically provides a series of high-quality miniaturized inductors and anti-interference capacitors to help the development of Internet of Vehicles, automotive infotainment systems and telematics systems.
Today, we introduce the application of TDK products in automotive connectivity, which is also the last part of this series.
In-vehicle network
Digital technology is committed to the construction of connected cars, aiming to make the car a mobile computer through high-speed (HS) interfaces and data lines. On-board servers and domain controllers are core elements of fast and secure in-vehicle networks and are widely used in more and more computing devices (ECUs). TDK is a global leader in data and signal line chokes, enabling trouble-free exchange of massive amounts of data even in demanding environments. TDK's chip varistors are the only choice for reliable protection of sensitive interfaces from transient overvoltages. In addition, TDK also provides efficient and reliable filters for simultaneous transmission of data and power on coaxial lines (power over coaxial line, PoC).
Selected Product Highlights
|
Data and signal line chokes for automotive networks ACT1210 Series Suitable for all common automotive networks, including CAN-FD, A2B, Flexray and Ethernet 10/100/1000base-T1; excellent performance and temperature characteristics; robust design and high reliability |

Infotainment
In-car information, entertainment and communication are increasingly being realized via audiovisual systems. Individual system units can be networked either via wired connections or using WiFi or Bluetooth. User comfort (e.g. via haptic feedback) and efficient versatility are two decisive performance characteristics. For example, for reliable operation, appropriate anti-interference measures are required for the data lines. Miniaturized antennas ensure smooth exchange of data between radio-based system units.

Telematics
Telematics systems (V2X) can significantly improve vehicle safety and comfort. Vehicles communicate and exchange data via the cloud (V2C), between vehicles (V2V) or with infrastructure systems (V2I). For example, V2X systems can optimize traffic flow and take appropriate measures quickly and automatically in the event of an accident or breakdown. To achieve all these functions, not only RF components are required, but also inertial sensors are needed to determine the exact position of the vehicle.
