According to foreign media reports, artificial intelligence chip manufacturer Hailo announced a collaboration with industrial computer hardware manufacturer NEXCOM to launch NEXCOM's next-generation AI in-vehicle telematics solution VTC 1021. NEXCOM's AI solution uses the compact Hailo-8™ AI accelerator module to achieve breakthrough performance and enable in-vehicle computers to run the most advanced AI applications more efficiently.

The joint solution improves operational efficiency for public transportation and fleet management, including enhanced features such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The in-vehicle solution features a compact fanless design, ideal for space-constrained cabins and for demanding automotive environments, helping to bring public transportation vehicles and fleets into the smart era. With the Intel Atom® x5-E3940 processor, the in-vehicle computer VTC 1021 also has the versatility to flexibly power a variety of telematics applications such as infotainment, fleet management, ANPR, and mobile video surveillance. Target applications for this joint solution include: driver drowsiness detection; occupant monitoring; pedestrian detection warning; collision avoidance warning, etc.
