Recently, GAC Motors held the GAC Technology Day event. On that day, GAC Motors officially released its power battery technology strategy - the Neutron Star Strategy, as well as a layout from three aspects: battery cells, BMS, and battery packs. The electric drive system can achieve a charging power of 220-480kW, and can travel 200-400km after charging for eight minutes. It has proposed the goal of independently developing batteries and battery cells and applying them on a large scale within three years.
Among them, the "super battery" technology is actually the battery black technology - sponge silicon negative electrode battery, which mainly solves the problem of battery life on a single charge. GAC uses its own method to inject silicon into the negative electrode of the battery, and uses its company's special technology to make it shrink freely like a sponge, thereby solving the instability during battery charging and discharging. In addition, GAC has also reduced the volume of the finished battery by 20% and the weight by 14%. The comprehensive cruising range has reached 1,000km. This is a leap forward and progress for electric vehicles. Endurance has always been a reason why electric vehicles have been criticized over the years. GAC expects to put it into mass production this year. Once super battery technology is mass-produced, the electric vehicle market will definitely have a very large impact.
According to GAC, GAC Group will launch two versions of fast-charging batteries, 6C-500km and 3C-500km. They are planned to be installed on the GAC Aion V ( parameters | inquiry ) in September this year for the first time. Both batteries have greatly improved charging time and battery life. In addition, GAC Group also plans to deploy more than 100 super battery fast-charging stations in 2021.
