As early as 2019 at CVPR (the world's top academic conference in the field of computer vision and pattern recognition), Baidu Apollo unveiled its autonomous driving pure vision urban road closed-loop solution - Baidu Apollo Lite. Officials said that this is currently the only city-level L4 pure vision solution in China.

Baidu Apollo Lite supports parallel processing of up to 10 camera inputs and 200 frames per second of data. The maximum frame loss rate of a single visual link can be controlled below 5‰, achieving 360° real-time environmental perception, and a stable detection range of forward obstacles of 240 meters. It is also equipped with 30+ deep learning networks and a single-card GPU computing power of <30TOPs.

Baidu Apollo Lite can provide L4-level assisted driving on complex urban roads. With high-precision maps + V2X, Baidu calls it ANP (Apollo Navigation Pilot). Through the dimensionality reduction of L4 technology, high-precision maps, V2X and pure visual mass production solutions, it provides users with assisted driving capabilities without intervention from the starting point to the end point. ANP allows vehicles to seamlessly switch from AVP to urban roads, pass through ramps, ring roads, highways, expressways, expressway JCTs, ETCs and return to urban roads, completing point-to-point automatic assisted driving travel.

Currently, Baidu Apollo has opened the Apollo database - Apollo Scape large-scale autonomous driving data set to provide solutions for industry users, and it is expected to achieve pre-installed mass production of 1 million vehicles in 5 years.
