Recently, SmartSens, a leading CMOS image sensor supplier, launched two new CMOS image sensor products - SC100AT and SC410GS.
Driven by the dual drive of safety and intelligence, the on-board advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) has higher and higher requirements for the imaging performance of image sensors. As the "eyes" of smart cars, CMOS image sensors need to provide fast, clear, and high-quality images for the assisted driving system in ever-changing and complex driving environments.
As the first automotive-grade image sensor product in the SmartSens Automotive Series, the SC100AT has an ultra-high dynamic range of up to 140dB, and can handle strong light changes inside and outside the car with extremely high-quality, detailed images of light and dark. Whether entering or exiting a garage or tunnel under strong daylight, or driving at night with glaring oncoming headlights, it can handle all the details with ease.
In addition, the SC100AT is equipped with SmartSens' unique PixGain HDR® technology to achieve excellent tail-free imaging, and the readout noise as low as 0.58e- enables it to output clear and detailed night vision images in low-light environments, assisting the ADAS system to effectively improve driving safety at night.
The era of big data has spawned a large number of license plate recognition application scenarios (such as highway checkpoint cameras, electronic police at traffic intersections, and parking lot toll checkpoints, etc.). How to quickly and effectively capture license plate information when driving at high speeds or in low-light environments has become a prerequisite for accurate data collection.
The new SmartGS® series SC410GS released this time uses 4 million BSI pixels combined with global shutter technology, which can accurately capture fast-moving objects, without tail shadows or deformation, greatly improving recognition efficiency. At the same time, the innovative regional HDR technology can effectively optimize the difficulty of the camera in capturing overexposed signal lights at night, and the high-sensitivity BSI pixel process of up to 12000mV/Lux·s makes the low-light imaging quality exceptionally outstanding.
Currently, the cameras of intelligent transportation systems are still mainly based on 3-megapixel global shutter image sensors. However, SmartSens has innovatively launched the 4-megapixel SC410GS, which enables the camera to capture more image information through pixel enhancement, and can achieve dual-lane monitoring with one device. It strives to break the monopoly of foreign brands and promote the development of China's intelligent transportation system.
Mr. Ouyang Jian, Deputy General Manager of SmartSens Technology, said: "With the construction and improvement of the intelligent transportation system under the new infrastructure, coupled with the advanced wave of 'smart' in the automotive industry, there has been a surge in demand for image sensors for smart vehicles and intelligent traffic management. The two high-performance products launched by SmartSens this time, SC100AT and SC410GS, with outstanding product innovation performance and cutting-edge imaging technology, start from the automotive field, cover and empower the entire intelligent transportation system, and activate the opportunities of intelligent transportation chips!"
Samples of the SC100AT and SC410GS are now available and will be demonstrated at the Automotive World China 2020 exhibition to be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from August 26 to 28. You are all welcome to attend!
