As the time race to deliver new vehicles becomes increasingly fierce, driver-in-the-loop (DIL) simulation becomes increasingly important, and aVDS-S can provide a cost-effective method to develop automotive systems and test complex ADAS scenarios.

aVDS-S achieves high performance by using the same driver console, brakes, steering and seat haptic feedback system as the dynamic aVDS. aVDS-S also uses the same rFpro driving environment and aVDS software as other AB Dynamics simulator products, which means that models and scenarios used on aVDS-S can be seamlessly copied and run on other AB Dynamics driving simulators.

A special feature of the aVDS software is that it is part of AB Dynamics’ unique integrated software tool chain “Simpia”, which allows test scenarios and data to be shared very easily between AB Dynamics simulators and track test products, making it possible to efficiently and accurately correlate the real world and verify test results in the virtual world. In order to verify virtual test results using AB Dynamics’ track test equipment, the Simpia tool chain allows customers to copy and paste the most complex driving scenarios in the virtual world into the real world, and vice versa, which can greatly reduce test preparation time and test resources.

The aVDS-S simulator is built into a very compact chassis, with integrated electronics and computer software, making it easy to relocate to any facility. The simulator is equipped with a standard 64.5-inch monitor that works in daylight conditions, and an optional three-screen set is available to enhance the immersive experience. Other display options include a projection system with screen or an augmented reality avatar, with digital content provided by software provider rFpro.
