Deliver high-quality in-vehicle software for mission-critical applications through secure and reliable next-generation Ethernet solutions
Marvell recently announced that its automotive Ethernet switch software has achieved SPICEÒ Level 2 automotive certification. This certification demonstrates Marvell's commitment to providing world-class automotive software development capabilities and processes. Specifically, ASPICE Level 2 certification can provide automakers with sufficient confidence to use Marvell software in important application areas, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), L3/L4 autonomous driving systems (AD), and secure central gateways.
Automotive SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability Certification) is jointly developed by multiple special interest groups within the Automotive Special Interest Group (SIG). The group includes automotive OEMs, procurement forums, and SPICE user groups to address the software development needs of the automotive industry. To obtain this certification, Marvell has gone through a rigorous certification process and improved its software development capabilities over the past three years. ASPICE Level 2 certification was evaluated and completed by Vector Consulting Services, an independent third-party organization in Germany.
"Achieving ASPICE Level 2 certification reflects Marvell's commitment to providing customers with innovative, industry-proven, efficient in-vehicle platforms," said Will Chu, vice president and general manager of the automotive business at Marvell Semiconductor. "Marvell is very proud to receive this honor, especially compared to our major Ethernet competitors who lack such embedded software development capabilities. At a higher level, our multi-year investment in the automotive space is designed to position Marvell as a leader in automotive Ethernet connectivity and accelerate the realization of a smarter driving future."
“Achieving SPICE Level 2 Automotive certification is an important step forward for Marvell in its software development journey,” said Dr. Oliver Plan, Lead SPICE Assessor at Vector Consulting Services. “We are confident that the firmware development teams that were assessed can effectively leverage the value of using ASPICE best practices. The results show that the processes, methods and tools are well implemented and can be used to develop state-of-the-art automotive products.”
