Skoda develops Connect app to help drivers find parking spaces

Every car owner should have a similar experience - forgetting where they parked their car and having to look for it in the parking lot. A new study shows that with the arrival of the holiday season and people flying, nearly 50,000 drivers in the UK and Ireland may forget where they parked their car at the airport. According to Skoda research, Manchester Airport ranks first with an estimated 9,671 drivers returning to the wrong parking area. London Luton ranks second with about 6,630 drivers forgetting where they parked each year.

According to foreign media reports, Skoda has developed a solution to prevent drivers from forgetting their parking positions after the holidays. Through the ŠKODA Connect app, users can use the Last Parking Position function to locate their vehicles. Drivers can also use the Honk and Flash function to remotely control the car horn and flash the headlights to determine the exact location of the car.

James Snowden, Skoda UK product marketing manager, said: “It’s easy to forget where you parked your car, especially if you’ve been away from it for a long time. The Last Parking Position and Honk and Flash features will help Skoda drivers avoid this embarrassing situation.”
