The joint venture of SGS (SGS) and Allion Co., Ltd. (Allion) was launched in Shanghai. The establishment of Allion aims to provide one-stop inspection, testing and certification solutions for the Chinese automotive industry chain in the field of connected vehicles, including automotive electronics, network communications, and software development, and to provide international quality assurance for the innovative integration of traditional vehicles and intelligent connected technologies. Mr. Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS Group, and Mr. Jane Chien-Hsia, CEO of Allion, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Experts in the field of connected vehicle technology applications and testing from all over the world, as well as major automotive brands and parts suppliers gathered in Shanghai to witness the cooperation between the two testing and certification giants.

With the development of new technologies such as 5G, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and big data, relevant quality standards are constantly being introduced or updated, and the direction of standard formulation in different countries is different. Various quality standards and laws and regulations make people feel at a loss, especially in the application of automotive intelligence and vehicle networking technology. The compliance challenges faced by the automotive industry are increasing day by day. In the field of Internet of Vehicles, various automotive products need to undergo multiple and long-term third-party inspections, tests, verifications and certification services during the development stage. There are not many testing agencies that focus on the automotive industry, and even fewer agencies that have the ability to cover in-vehicle and out-of-vehicle networking technologies. Belden Automotive integrates the superior resources of its parent company SGS and Allion in multiple fields such as automobiles, electronics, communications, and reliability testing. Its service capabilities in providing technical verification, product certification, quality improvement and technology development to commercial customers cover in-vehicle network terminal testing and out-of-vehicle network terminals, such as Logo certification (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, HDMI, etc.), product compatibility, voice recognition, signal measurement, software verification, etc., as well as mobile communications 5G, Cellular V2X, DSRC V2X, NB-IoT, foreign telecom operators’ network access certification and other wireless technologies and related RF testing, automotive safety and mechanical reliability, environmental simulation verification and automotive EMC and many other fields. Belton AutoLink's integrated one-stop service solution has largely solved the problem of manufacturers in the Internet of Vehicles-related industries running back and forth between multiple testing and certification agencies and being unable to obtain complete solutions.
With its proficient interpretation of international standards and laws and regulations related to automobiles and car networking, and its rich experience in testing technology research and development, Belden Automotive can also provide various customized service solutions for the industry. In addition to traditional automotive electronics and OEM manufacturers, Belden Automotive can also meet the different verification and testing needs of automotive applications such as car communications, home communication systems, and center console navigation.

Mr. Jian Zhenxia, CEO of Allion and Chairman of Belden Automotive, pointed out that the global demand for testing of vehicles and related applications is constantly expanding; not only safety certification, but also compatibility, reliability, and various functional verifications cannot be ignored. Jian Zhenxia said: "We are very happy that Allion can join hands with SGS to jointly establish a joint venture to maximize the advantages of both parties in the field of testing and certification!"
Mr. Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS Group, said: "SGS and Allion have a common vision for the global testing market. The establishment of Belden Automotive is an important milestone for the two parties to start global strategic alliance cooperation. I am full of confidence in the development of Belden Automotive in China!" It is reported that SGS Group has already reached a global strategic alliance with Allion Group, recognizing each other as the only global partner in the fields of internal and external vehicle communications, software compatibility testing, etc., and has successively started commercial cooperation and global service integration in Taiwan, Japan and North America. The establishment of Belden Automotive officially included the Chinese market in the territory of this global strategic alliance. In the future, the two parties plan to continue to work together to explore other automotive testing and certification markets in Asia, Europe and the United States.
Mr. Chen Wentang, Director of Wireless Communications Division of SGS Greater China and Japan and General Manager of Belden Automotive Connectivity, said: "Although Belden Automotive Connectivity was established not long ago, we have strong laboratory and technical service resources in China and the Asia-Pacific region. For China's automotive and connected car industries, Belden Automotive Connectivity will be a partner with the most complete professional qualifications and the richest industry experience."
On the day of the unveiling ceremony of Belden Auto Connect, a forum on vehicle networking testing and certification technology was also held. Kailash Narayanan, global vice president and general manager of wireless at Keysight, a global strategic partner of SGS, Fred Hsieh, vice president of Allion, Brian Shih, vice president of Allion, Parthiv Parikh, wireless technology manager of SGS USA, and Robert Chang, senior manager of wireless communication services at SGS, brought professional topics such as AIoT artificial intelligence Internet of Things testing, 5G, C-V2X, DSRC V2X, USB4 and other vehicle networking standard testing and certification technology future trends and solutions, and exchanged views with nearly 100 automotive and vehicle networking professionals, which became the hot topic in the industry that day.
