On August 18, the Hami Shisanjianfang 90MW/180MWh energy storage peak-shaving and frequency regulation project, which was undertaken by Shandong Electric Power Construction EPC general contractor, was successfully connected to the grid, marking the project's transition from the construction stage to the grid-related commissioning stage, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent completion and handover of the project.

The Hami Shisanjianfang 90MW/180MWh energy storage peak-shaving and frequency-regulating power station project is located in the Shisanjianfang wind farm area of ​​Qijiaojing Town, Yizhou District, Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The construction capacity is 90MW/180MWh, corresponding to an energy storage time of 2 hours, and a 110kV booster station is built in conjunction with it. This project is equipped with 27 sets of energy storage booster units, 54 containerized lithium iron phosphate batteries, each with a capacity of 3.3858MWh, and 27 energy storage booster integrated machines with a capacity of 3.38MW. Each energy storage booster integrated machine contains two 1725kVA PCS and one 3460kVA dry-type transformer. Each energy storage booster integrated machine corresponds to two lithium iron phosphate battery containers, which are connected to the supporting 110kV booster station at a voltage level of 35kV. Every 6-7 sets of energy storage boosting units are combined into a collection line, with a total of 4 energy storage collection lines. The project is connected to the nearby 220kV substation of Shisanjianfang through a 110kV overhead line.

As the first grid-side energy storage demonstration project in Xinjiang, the project has the functions of dynamic capacity increase of substations, smooth output curve of wind farms and frequency and peak regulation of power grids. After completion, it will play a significant supporting role in the peak regulation, frequency regulation and voltage regulation of the entire Xinjiang power grid. As a "power bank" of the power grid, the energy storage power station is conducive to relieving the pressure of new energy transmission in the area, will effectively improve the phenomenon of wind farm abandonment in the region, and greatly solve the randomness and volatility of new energy generation in the local power grid, which is of great significance for promoting the efficient use of clean energy.
