At the beginning of this year, State Grid Corporation of China proposed the strategic goal of building a world-class energy Internet enterprise with "three types and two networks", and the ubiquitous power Internet of Things has attracted widespread attention from all walks of life. Recently, State Grid Corporation of China successfully held the Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Forum and the 5th "Youth Entrepreneurship Competition" Achievement Trading Exhibition, focusing on the innovative achievements of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things, gathering the strength of all walks of life, and actively building a co-construction, co-governance and win-win energy Internet ecosystem, which has stimulated new vitality for innovation and creation in the entire industry.

Building a smart service system to inject strength into the country's implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy

The State Grid Corporation of China Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Forum and the Fifth "Youth Entrepreneurship Competition" Achievement Trading Exhibition were very lively. In the exhibition area, 389 projects with market trading value were being displayed and traded, involving 400 companies and 389 youth maker teams, covering four areas: perception connection, data application, business improvement, and innovative development. In the venue, Internet companies, upstream and downstream companies, and university experts and scholars conducted in-depth discussions on the construction of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things, focusing on how the ubiquitous power Internet of Things can empower smart energy and serve social development.

State Grid Corporation of China focuses on the field of ubiquitous power Internet of Things, adheres to the new strategy of "three types and two networks", encourages young people to innovate and research based on their jobs, and builds an innovative stage and fertile soil for creation for young people to devote themselves to the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things; at the same time, it strengthens cooperation with all sectors to build and share, pool the wisdom and strength of all parties, and jointly promote the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things.

Today, the ubiquitous power Internet of Things is under construction in full swing. Focusing on all aspects of power, the State Grid has comprehensively built a smart service system to inject strength into the country's implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy. At the exhibition site, a project called "Lighting up Hero Island to Create a "Negative Carbon" Smart System of Ubiquitous Internet of Things" attracted the attention of the audience. The inspiration for this project came from a red education study on Kaishan Island organized by the Economic and Technological Research Institute of Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd. of the State Grid. "In 1986, 26-year-old Wang Jicai received the task of guarding the island. From then on, he and his wife made Kaishan Island their home and dedicated their youth to the country's coastal defense cause. Before 2008, Wang Jicai and his wife patrolled the island at night and could only rely on flashlights and kerosene lamps for lighting. Electricity and water on the island became a problem." said Zhang Qun, the main creator of the project.

Today, Kaishan Island's electricity conditions have undergone a huge change. Through this project, Kaishan Island has achieved 7×24 hours of uninterrupted power supply. On June 18, 2019, Kaishan Island's smart microgrid was successfully completed and put into operation. The newly built 110 kW photovoltaic power generation equipment, 30 kW wind turbines and 660 kW energy storage devices can provide about 150,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity and 3,650 tons of fresh water each year.

"In addition to uninterrupted power supply, through our ubiquitous IoT smart energy system, future islands will not only achieve 'low carbon' and 'zero carbon', but even 'negative carbon'!" Zhang Qun explained that there are currently 7,000 islands of coastal scale and above in my country, which have extremely high national defense significance and strategic value, and are rich in natural resources, but more than 95% of them are undeveloped. The "negative carbon" smart system will build a multi-dimensional and efficient clean energy conversion device, a flexible and complementary island clean energy routing system, realize the elastic complementarity of "source, grid, load and storage", and establish an inter-island energy sharing platform of ubiquitous IoT.

This is just a microcosm of the State Grid Corporation of China's efforts to improve quality and efficiency and achieve shared and integrated development. In the next step, the State Grid Corporation of China will focus on the construction of marketing and distribution integration, customer service middle platform pilot, smart IoT system, data model, etc., focus on core functions, explore diversified operation and investment methods, focus on platform construction and operation and business model innovation, and share development results with the society.

Accurately match technology supply with industry demand to promote the application and transformation of mass entrepreneurship and innovation results

At the forum, many experts and scholars believed that the construction of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things requires a breakthrough in technology. Liu Yunjie, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that the global Internet is undergoing technological changes, and measures should be taken from the core technology of network architecture, "through the extensive integration of sensing equipment, measuring equipment, and various sensing modules, so that the traditional Internet of Things has a very efficient, safe, and intelligent neural command brain." In fact, in the construction of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things, the vision of Academician Liu Yunjie has been gradually realized.

At the exhibition, the project "The Strongest "Core" of the Casting Industry - Special Design Technology of Industrial Control Chips to Promote the Construction of Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things" from Zhixin Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. of State Grid Information and Communication Industry Group attracted widespread attention. Liu Fang, the main creator of the project, said that at the science and technology project exchange meeting, they found that at the construction site of the transmission and distribution line, the sensor nodes had problems such as short battery life, low perception accuracy, and weak anti-interference ability, which required power sensor chips to provide support for timely and accurate perception of the status. Therefore, by collecting environmental data on the power application site, the main creative team conducted a correlation analysis between chip performance and the environment, and guided the chip process parameters and design improvements by developing auxiliary design software.

"When designing, we give priority to reliability factors and extract chip reliability models." Liu Fang said that in the process of developing sensor chips, the main creators broke through the key technical difficulties of the impact of environmental factors on the reliability and safety of industrial chips, and successfully developed a variety of sensor chips with ultra-wide temperature range, high precision, ultra-low power consumption, super strong resistance to electromagnetic interference, and ultra-safety for use in harsh industrial environments.

Not only Zhixin Company, but many grassroots power supply companies of State Grid Corporation of China are also thinking about how to innovate ubiquitous power Internet of Things distribution network monitoring technology to help front-line power maintenance personnel further reduce their burden.

"Our 'magic heartbeat' and 'Rural Power Grid Eye in the Sky' have transformed grassroots distribution network repairs from 'passive' to 'active'!" At the achievement exhibition, Liu Zhiyong, deputy director of the Internet Office of Hubei Huanggang Power Supply Company, brought a project called "Magic Heartbeat, Rural Power Grid Eye in the Sky - Real-time Situation Awareness Helps Reduce the Burden on Grassroots Teams."

Liu Zhiyong said that in the past, when power distribution stations carried out emergency repairs, they mostly adopted passive repair modes and had low work efficiency. The main creative team used system heartbeat data to implement distribution network monitoring, and could detect power outages in trunk lines, branch lines and substations within 2 minutes. Since its promotion and application, the average fault handling time for 10 kV has been reduced by 55 minutes, and user complaints about power outages have dropped by 68.8%.

State Grid Corporation of China has always attached great importance to scientific and technological innovation, and has achieved remarkable results, with a large number of innovative achievements emerging. However, due to the fact that the allocation of innovative resources is still scattered, repeated, closed, and inefficient to a certain extent, the conversion rate of innovative achievements is not high, and the channels for achievement conversion are not smooth, so many innovative achievements have not been transformed into actual productivity. To this end, State Grid Corporation of China innovatively proposed a new model to empower achievement conversion through the "State Grid Xiaoe" brand, and released it to the public for the first time on June 28, 2018, realizing the first branding and marketization of dual innovation products.

"'State Grid Xiaoe' has opened up the entire process of product demand, design, manufacturing, sales and service, and is also the pioneer of a new model for transforming innovative results of State Grid Corporation of China." Li Chao, from the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center of State Grid E-Commerce Co., Ltd., said that "State Grid Xiaoe" conducts joint operations with the owners of the results through patent cooperation on the one hand, and jointly conducts marketing with the transformation partner companies through e-commerce platforms on the other hand. By adopting the sales model of "order-oriented production promotion", it reduces inventory and circulation costs, and promotes the transformation of "new manufacturing + new retail" towards intelligence, personalization and customization.
