The TPS54160 asynchronous buck has an input voltage range of 3.5 V to 65 V, providing designers with high flexibility for input transient applications. The converter uses TI's innovative Eco-mode light-load efficiency switching technology to achieve a low operating current of 116 μA and a shutdown current of 1.3 μA, which can extend system operation time and improve the efficiency of power system design.
The converter also features a high switching frequency range between 300 kHz and 2.5 MHz, which reduces the size of the output inductor, saving board space. The TPS54160 frequency foldback and thermal shutdown features allow the converter to self-protect under overload conditions.
The TPS54160 also features an integrated tracking pin that simplifies various sequencing schemes and a clock pin that can reduce noise by synchronizing the switching frequency with an external clock.
TI's SWIFT DC/DC converters have an input voltage range of up to 65 V and an output current of up to 14 A, meeting the needs of a variety of applications such as telecommunications, computing, industrial and consumer point-of-load applications.
