Forest fires are sudden and random, and can cause huge losses in a short period of time. Therefore, once a fire occurs, firefighting measures must be taken very quickly. Whether the firefighting is timely and the decision is appropriate depends on whether the forest fire behavior is discovered in time, whether the analysis is accurate and reasonable, and whether the decision is appropriate.

  For this reason, efforts are being made at home and abroad to prevent, reduce and control forest fires. In order to realize the standardization, scientificization and informatization of forest fire prevention work as soon as possible, implement the principle of "prevention first, active firefighting" and truly achieve early detection and early resolution. Forest monitoring, forest fire prevention monitoring, forest wireless monitoring, and forest wireless network video monitoring are relatively important. The forest area project is composed of the forest area monitoring management command center system, transmission system, camera and lens system, pan-tilt control system, power supply system and iron tower. The forest area monitoring management command center system is the image display, image recording control center and remote control function of the entire system, providing command and dispatch personnel with comprehensive, clear, operable, recordable and replayable real-time images of the scene. The forest area monitoring management command center system also has the function of interfacing to the superior forestry bureau and the provincial forestry department.

Application of remote thermal imaging technology in forest fire prevention video monitoring

  Features of forest fire prevention video monitoring system

  1. Remote video surveillance is widely used in many key prevention areas due to its intuitive, real and effective nature. Remote video surveillance can detect forest fires in time before they occur, thus achieving the purpose of fire prevention;

  2. Remote video monitoring can transmit the images of the scene back to the command center when a forest fire occurs. The command center can command and dispatch firefighting by monitoring the images of the front-end cameras, thus minimizing the losses caused by the fire;

  3. Remote video monitoring can truly record the real situation on the scene before and after the fire, so as to deal with the fire and provide effective and real information;

  4. Set up long-range thermal imaging visible light dual-band weather cameras (TVC) at the commanding heights of each fire observation tower in the forest area, covering a radius of 3 kilometers and observing forest fires in an area of 12 square kilometers. For the initial fire, timely discovery and rescue are achieved, so that fire hazards can be eliminated in the bud;

  5. The long-range thermal imaging visible light dual-band weather camera (TVC) has an excellent fog-penetrating effect, and the fire prevention capability in severe weather such as fog and haze is also greatly improved.

  6. CDMA transmission is used from the fire observation tower to the forest area management and command center. It is not limited by distance and is not blocked. The front-end image can be transmitted to the monitoring and management center wherever the CDMA network is covered. The forest fire prevention and fire control center can observe the fire and the on-site situation in real time, so as to timely understand the on-site situation and coordinate the dispatch and command;

  7. The forest area monitoring and management command center remotely controls the front-end equipment for long focus and short focus through the CDMA network; and controls the PTZ up and down, left and right;

  8. The forest area monitoring and management command center can record the entire process of fire occurrence, development and elimination, and provide real, effective and intuitive data for future fire prevention and control.

  The entire wireless monitoring system consists of a forest monitoring management command center system, a wireless transmission system, a camera and lens system, a pan/tilt control system, and a power supply system.

  Important links of the system

  Front-end monitoring point

  It is usually installed on the commanding heights of fire lookout towers in forest areas, or installed on columns and high poles by yourself, including infrared low-light all-weather cameras, pan-tilt control systems, and video servers.

  Wireless transmission system

  Each monitoring point transmits images to the Forestry Bureau or monitoring center through a wireless transmission system. The signal transmission part includes a carrier-grade wireless bridge compatible with the 802.11a standard, a high-gain antenna, and a high-frequency feeder.

  The wireless network base station is composed of a wireless bridge and an antenna feed system. If there is no power supply on the mountains, solar panels or wind turbines can be used for power supply, depending on the local environment.

  Through the wireless monitoring system, not only can comprehensive, clear, recordable and replayable multi-screen real-time images be obtained, but also the focus and pan-tilt movement of the front-end camera can be operated and controlled through the wireless network to meet various requirements for monitoring images.
