In recent years, with the popularity of smartphones equipped with NFC chips, NFC has also begun to be used in a large number of enterprise-level fields such as coupons and ID recognition. However, at present, NFC applications are limited to the commercial level of enterprises. However, there is still no way to find a way to customize applications for individuals. There is only one step left for personal applications of NFC: cheap NFC data storage media.

NFC Tag: Smaller than a 1-yuan coin, this cheap, rewritable data storage medium has begun to be mass-produced in Japan. Fortunately, I found this thing and wrote down my experience below. I customized my own NFC application with the materials at hand.

  1. Smaller than a 1-yuan coin, 20 pieces cost 1,400 yen (a bottle of water usually costs 100-150 yen). The back is sticky and can be attached to any place such as a wall or door. The storage capacity of the chip is 144 bytes.

  2. With the storage medium, the next step is to introduce the App-Tagstand (free) that can read and write to the NFC Tag.

Writing data to the NFC Tag is very simple. Set the application on the mobile app (such as turning on the alarm clock, wifi), confirm the writing (third from the left in the above picture), and then touch the NFC Tag to complete the writing operation. The above app has templates for scenes such as cars, offices, and rest areas. There are also common functions such as setting the alarm clock; turning wifi and Bluetooth on and off; switching the vibration ringtone; adjusting the phone volume and screen brightness, etc.

  3. Application 1: When you get home, touch the NFC Tag in the living room to turn on your phone's Wi-Fi and switch your phone's ringtone.

First, we put the NFC Tag at the entrance of the living room. Use the template in the App to set the content to be written, turn on Wi-Fi and switch the phone to ringtones. Then set the name of the Tag to Genkan (which means living room in Japanese). Finally, touch and write the NFC Tag.

Now you have set up the above application. When you get home, just touch the Tag in the living room. It will automatically turn on the wifi and start the ring mode. Pretty simple, right? Pretty cool, right?

Application 2: Start the car navigation system

Put an NFC Tag in the car, set the volume to the maximum in the NFC reader/writer App, turn on GPS, start the navigation software, etc. Touch to write data. Every time you drive, touch this Tag to complete a series of settings mentioned above.

You may not agree with the above application introduction. The reason is very simple. The so-called NFC Tag personal customization is nothing more than a centralized setting of the existing mobile phone settings. And through the NFC Tag customization function, you can also set them one by one on the mobile phone. But the author does not think so. The emergence of NFC has changed our usage habits, making us accustomed to using the simplest action of Touch to achieve it. From bartering to the emergence of currency to the popularity of cash cards and credit cards to NFC electronic currency payment, each change has great significance. The author firmly believes that TouchDone will become a popular method in the world like @ in Twitter. Imagine if such a day happens, would you still think that NFC and the customized applications implemented by NFC Tags are dispensable and unimportant?

6:00 I am woken up by the alarm on my mobile phone. I touch the phone to the tag on the bedside and play my favorite songs at an appropriate volume.

6:30 Toilet time, touch the toilet tag and check the weather.

7:00 While eating breakfast, touch the tag on the table to check today's fortune and decide what to wear and color (such as Lucky Color, etc.)

8:00 Get on the bus, touch the tag on your handbag, and check the news.

9:00 Work starts. I touch the tag on my office seat, turn on wifi and check today’s schedule.

10:00 Visit customers, touch mobile phones to each other, and exchange electronic business cards (contact information).

12:00 Lunch time, touch the restaurant tag to get today's special recommended set menu.

13:00 Lunch is over and Touch pays via e-wallet.

18:00 After work, on the way home on the subway, I found a discount coupon or promotion that I was interested in, and I used Touch Tag to get it.

19:00 Back home, touch the Tag to switch to ringtone mode and launch Weibo to check friends' updates.

23:00 Rest, touch the tag on the bedside, set and start the weekday alarm.
