Driver information and entertainment covers the entertainment, information and communication facilities in the car. It includes communication functions such as wireless communication and voice recognition, and entertainment systems such as digital radio/TV and DVD video players. CD-MP3 AM/FM analog radio
Analog radio is the mainstream of car radio in the current market. ST's mixed-signal technology can provide high-performance, low-cost solutions for entry-level AM/FM reception and playback devices as well as powerful integrated amplifiers (driving multiple speakers with a single IC). CD-MP3 AM/FM digital radio
Digital signal processing is used in all aspects of car radio systems: from tone, volume, fade in and fade out, left and right balance control, to equalization of the vehicle's acoustic parameters. ST's top technology makes it possible to digitize the IF frequency for improved reception reliability and audio quality. ST's advanced technologies and products provide important system-level solutions for advanced in-vehicle multimedia systems, supporting playback of various audio devices, including CD, DVD, SVCD, VCD, MPEG-4, WMV, as well as high-end multi-channel audio systems such as MP3pro, WMA, DTS-ES, AAC, Dolby Digital-EX, etc. The flexible multi-core architecture allows users to quickly integrate their own proprietary algorithms and new audio/video codecs.
