What is camera clarity/subject/leveling?

Clarity

Also known as "image circle", the ability of a photographic lens to clearly show fine textures. The reflected light points of an object are gathered into a focus (actually a dispersion circle) through the lens, and its size can determine the clarity of the lens. If the dispersion circle is large, the image circle of the lens must be soft and scattered, and fine textures cannot be displayed; if all the dispersion circles are very small, and the image formed can distinguish fine textures, the image circle of the lens can be called good. This belongs to optical clarity. In addition, low resolution of the photosensitive film, overexposure, too strong properties of the developer and improper development processing methods will affect the clarity of the image, which belongs to photographic clarity.

Subject

It refers to the scene shown in the lens. Generally speaking, these scenes should be within the focus range of the lens, and the out-of-focus scene should not belong to the subject of the shooting (even if it is also in the picture). But sometimes in order to obtain a special effect, the photographer (imager) intentionally makes the subject of the shooting into a virtual focus. In foreign countries, the subject of the shooting is translated as "object".

Flat Adjustment

One of the types of film and television tone. In the area of the screen, the black and white part is relatively small, and the gray area occupies a large part. Because it gives people a feeling of flatness and cleanliness, it is called "flat tone". When shooting this tone, it is not recommended to use lighting to render. It distributes light neatly with an objective attitude, without large shadows or deep light and shadow, so that the audience can concentrate on appreciating the performance of the actors, and appreciate the colorful costumes and backgrounds.
