Transformer selection, use and characteristics
Uses:
1. Different voltage power supplies are often required in various electrical equipment. For example, the lighting electricity we use in daily life is 220V or 110V; the motor electricity of machine tools, crushers and other machines is 380V; and the safety lighting electricity is 36V; the voltage of urban industrial power supply lines is as high as 6kV and 10kV.
2. Modern industrial enterprises have widely adopted electricity as energy, and the electric energy is directly converted from the generators of hydropower stations and power plants. The electricity generated by the generator will be transmitted according to different voltage levels according to the transmission distance, so there is a need for a special device to change the voltage. This device is called a "transformer".
3. The transformer is one of the most important electrical equipment in the power system. It can change the voltage from low to high or from high to low. It can be seen from the basic knowledge of electrical engineering that when the same electric power is transmitted, its power loss is inversely proportional to the square of the voltage, and the voltage loss is inversely proportional to the voltage, that is, the higher the voltage, the smaller the power loss and voltage loss consumed in the transmission line. Therefore, in order to reduce the power loss and voltage loss on the transmission line, the voltage must be increased by a transformer.
4. In actual work, in addition to converting AC voltage, transformers are also used to convert AC current (such as current transformers, large current generators, etc.), transform impedance (such as input and output transformers in electronic circuits), change phase, etc.
Working conditions:
The transformer is installed indoors and ensures normal operation under the following working conditions.
1. The altitude does not exceed 2000m;
2. The highest ambient temperature is +40℃, the highest monthly average temperature is not more than +30℃, and the annual average temperature is not more than +20℃;
3. The relative humidity of the air is not more than 95%;
4. The ambient air does not contain harmful gases and conductive dust that corrode metals and destroy insulation;
5. There is no severe vibration and impact vibration;
6. During use, the transformer must not be corroded by water, rain, or snow;
7. The power supply voltage waveform is similar to a sine wave.
3.2 Main technical parameters of transformer
1. Rated voltage (V)
AC: below 1000V
2. Rated power (kVA):
Specifications: a single-phase 25VA~50kVA
b three-phase 300VA~250kVA
3. Frequency: 50~60Hz
