OCXO oscillator schematic diagram

Each OCXO consists of three main parts, namely, the quartz crystal , the holding circuit and the temperature regulator, which can cause instability
. The instability under different conditions will be discussed in the rest of Chapter 3 and Chapter 4.
Oscillator Instability - General Expression

Here QL is the load Q on the resonator and dφ(ff) is
the phase of the offset frequency ff away from the signal frequency f after a small change in the closed circuit. The phase change of the system and the phase noise in the closed circuit come from the resonator or the continuous circuit. Taking
the maximum value of QL can effectively reduce the influence of noise and the changes of the continuous electronic device caused by the environment. In a practical
oscillator design, the short-term instability of the resonator under the influence of the offset frequency is smaller than the half bandwidth of the resonator, and
the larger offset will be caused by the continuous circuit and the transfer of large amounts of energy from the closed circuit.
