Metallized paper dielectric capacitor:
Its electrode is made by depositing a layer of metal film on capacitor paper by vacuum evaporation, so its volume is much smaller than that of paper dielectric capacitor. Its main feature is that it has self-healing effect. When the dielectric is partially broken down, its electrical properties can be immediately restored to the state before the breakdown. Although metallized paper dielectric capacitors have overcome some shortcomings of paper dielectric capacitors, they still cannot leave paper. They have poor chemical stability and their losses increase sharply with the increase of frequency, so they are not suitable for high-frequency circuits.

The disadvantage is poor stability and large loss. It can only be used in low-frequency or DC circuits. It has been replaced by synthetic film capacitors, but it still has a place in high-voltage paper dielectric capacitors.
