Nexperia, a subsidiary of Wingtech, was attacked by hackers, and it was reported that the data of many customers were stolen

According to an announcement on Nexperia's official website on April 15, its NexperiaIT server was accessed by an unauthorized third party (hacker attack) in March this year.

Nexperia Semiconductor is headquartered in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. It was spun off from NXP's acquisition of Freescale. It mainly engages in semiconductor standard product business with annual revenue of US$2.4 billion (IT Home Note: currently approximately RMB 17.424 billion).

Nexperia is currently owned by electronics giant Wingtech Technology, which said last year that about half of Nexperia's revenue comes from the automotive industry.

Nexperia said it took swift action to disconnect affected systems from the internet and took extensive mitigation measures.

Currently, Nexperia is investigating this cybersecurity incident with third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the scope and impact of the incident. At the same time, Nexperia has reported the incident to the Dutch Data Protection Authority and the police.

According to Dutch local media RTL Nieuws, the attack was carried out by the hacker group Dunghill. This emerging group claimed that it had stolen hundreds of GB of sensitive information, including commercial secrets of Nexperia customers such as SpaceX and Apple, as well as chip design documents, internal emails, and passports of former executives.
