Taipei, May 2, 2024 - Advantech, a global industrial IoT company, won the highest honor of "Comprehensive Performance - Electronic Technology Industry" in the 20th ESG Corporate Sustainability Award of Farsighted on May 2, standing out from 319 entries and winning the championship for the first time . In combination with the core IoT business, Advantech actively participates in sustainable development issues and works with industry partners to achieve specific results of green transformation and sustainable development goals, including empowering biodiversity conservation with AIoT, working with the National Taiwan University Experimental Forest to develop soundscape monitoring and AI automatic identification solutions, which are expected to reduce bird survey costs by 56%; at the same time, accelerate the development of low-carbon products and realize the application of green packaging materials. Advantech General Manager of General Operations Chen Qingxi said that Advantech has actively participated in the "Vision" ESG Corporate Sustainability Award for many years, and this year it finally won the first prize from the jury. In the past year, Advantech has achieved many of the best results in the field of sustainable development and has been recognized by domestic and international sustainable indicators. Not only was it selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the first time in 2023, it has progressed from the edge of meeting the standards in the past to the top 5% of the world's top sustainable development companies, and ranked fourth in the industry; in addition, in terms of corporate governance, it has won the top 5% of listed companies in the "Corporate Governance Rating" for three consecutive years, and has linked high-level compensation with ESG performance, continuing to implement ESG into corporate DNA and enhance sustainable business competitiveness.

Advantech takes "the smart promoter of a sustainable earth" as its development vision, starting from the three main axes of sustainable development: "green operation", "popularization of the Internet of Things for the common good", and "common good for employees and society". In the "green operation" aspect, it combines the core capabilities of the enterprise to develop various sustainable development smart solutions, such as intelligent energy management system (iEMS), smart medical care, smart factory, smart transportation, etc.; in the global operation activities in 2023, according to the EU Taxonomy indicator, the proportion of revenue from sustainable products will be as high as 40%, achieving the goal of "profitability and sustainable development go hand in hand".

In addition, Advantech actively uses its own industrial IoT industry resources and advantages to work with industry, academia and research to promote the "Industry-Academia Co-Creation Value Chain" through "integration of learning and application, open innovation, and popularization of education", achieving IoT thematic learning and innovation across 10 countries, helping students connect to workplace capabilities, and providing new startup teams with the market verification opportunities they lack the most, demonstrating Advantech's strong support for youth employment and entrepreneurship in "popularizing the Internet of Things for the benefit of all".

In addition, Advantech has also made outstanding achievements in "employee and social benefit". This year, it released a strategic blueprint for a diverse and inclusive workplace DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion), and promoted the goals through project teams. At the same time, it launched a talent information digital transformation plan, carried out diversified recruitment channels and training projects, and realized a "people-oriented" happy workplace. It also connected employee relations, welfare committees and Advantech Cultural and Educational Foundation through the "ABLE Club Happy Life" platform to implement employee care and community benefit.

Looking ahead, Advantech will continue to integrate IoT business with "altruism" as the core, implement local and international integration, and expand the spirit and practice of sustainability to Advantech worldwide.
