ARM, a British company, announced the official acquisition of Prolific, a company that focuses on IC design optimization software tools, which can significantly shorten chip design time and improve chip performance. ARM will also use this to quickly develop 20nm related products and more advanced process processors, providing SoC solutions with higher integration and lower power consumption.

ARM will develop more complex products with smaller support

Currently, the manufacturing process of mobile phone processors is generally 45nm, and there are some products with 65nm manufacturing process in the previous generation. According to Qualcomm's plan, its processors will evolve to 28nm next year (directly skipping the 32nm process on PCs). Although ARM does not produce SoC chips, this move will still help ARM provide innovative SoC solutions. As for when the finished product will be born, it will take at least two years.
